Education is a key component of membership in the WHTA, and it is offered in two different ways. The first is the traditional 60-75 minute presentation on a timely topic in Telecommunications/Data. This would typically be delivered by a vendor or a member of the organization. We usually have three of these at our Friday meetings. The second method is continuing education delivered via classroom instruction (4 or 8 hours) covering a much broader topic, such as "Data Communications" or "Computer Telephony Integration." These classes are presented by a variety of individuals chosen for their expertise in the particular area of discussion. They are intended to provide our members with basic and/or advanced knowledge of the chosen topic in an effort to improve their understanding and make them more valuable in the field. We offer at least one of these classes at each meeting (usually on Thursday), and they are offered in conjunction with an accrediting agency known as PAT (Professional Accreditation for Telecommunications). For more information about PAT, and for a complete listing of the courses that they offer, please visit their web site at: www.pathonline.org
